A company called "Istanbul Eats" offers unique Istanbul tours exploring the rich variety of street food the city has to offer. The places on this tour are the places that no one has written about in mainstream guidebooks, however the owners of the company have captured them all in a small book also titled "Istanbul Eats".
The city tour lasts approximately 6 hours, and has about 12 different stops along the way. It is like packing a week's worth of eating into 6 hours. The tour begins at the Spice Market and snakes down the alleys that are filled with stands selling all kinds of local favorites. You visit small coffee shops and get a lesson in brewing famous Turkish coffee, not to mention several restaurants and tea-shops in various parts of the city.
