Istanbul Travel Cultural Tours
Throughout Turkey there will be many cultural events for both locals and tourists alike to enjoy in 2011. One of the most important of these events is an Istanbul travel tour called "Istanbul on the Trail of Evliya Celebi", which was established by the Istanbul City Culture and Tourism Directorate.
These city tours are coordinated by Istanbul historian Suleyman Faruk Goncuoglu, and they aim to guide people through the city of Istanbul as if they were being accompanies by the Ottoman travel writer himself. For those who love to walk and learn, and for those who want to feel envoeloped in the atmosphere that the works of Celebi invoke, then these tours will be very enticing. The tours start in the neighborhood near Unkapani where Celebi was born, in Kucukpazar. Participants will walk through the streets where he spent his childhood, and they will visit the mosque built by his great grandfather, Yavuz Er Sinan.
